Part Sourcing

Over the years, I have gathered both knowledge and experience in looking up parts that can be tough to find. Finding quality alternatives to parts no longer available, or only available in less-than-desirable quality, has become something I really enjoy over my years of working with Saabs. One of my customers recently contacted me for a part sourcing job. My customer was rebuilding the braking system on a 1973 Saab 99, and was having difficulties finding good brake pads. Whilst parts are relatively readily available for these cars, finding a nice feeling, long lasting brake pad seemed impossible. Shortly after getting the go-ahead to start looking for good alternatives, I found Até pads front and rear. I ended up deciding to spend a little more time on this, in order to be able to supply these pads for the full range of Saab 99 models, all the way from 1968 through 1984. The result is a firmer feeling brake pedal, much improved initial bite and a slight reduction in brake dust. Mission accomplished!
