ReierSpec wiper blade kit, Saab NG900, 9000 and OG9-3

As car development has moved on since the 90’s, so has wiper blade technology. Where Saab used a traditional hook-stye mount, most new cars on sale today use so-called ‘flatblade’ style wiper systems. These are great, as flatblades are usually much quieter than conventional blades and perform better at high speeds too. On these newer cars, the wiper arms will have low-profile attachments for the blades.

Of course these flatblade style wipers are also available for the traditional hook style mount. Sadly, these retrofit flatblade wipers usually offer less benefits than it would on cars with flatblade arms. An additional downside, though less important, is the bulky look the hook style mount gives these retrofit blades.

Luckily, there’s a third option, the hybrid wiper. This design combines the flexibility of a conventional wiper with the high-speed stability benefits of a flatblade wiper. This design means these blades work very nicely on the curved windshields Saab is famous for, providing much better high-speed performance than the traditional blades these cars came with, without the bulky look retrofit flatblades give. The ideal wiper in my book!
