After experiencing the effects of running a fixed caliper brake setup on my old 900 Classic, getting similar braking feel and performance out of my 2011 9-3 was something that’s been on the list of wants ever since buying the car.
Extensive research and running calculations, I came to a setup consisting of Brembo calipers, 345mm OEM brake rotors and backing plates and a combination of brackets and lines that would bolt up like factory and would deliver both the performance and the looks I’ve been chasing after.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so after sourcing all the parts, it was time to get to installing them on my car. A solid two hours of work, since replacing the disc backing plates requires removing the wheel hub from the carrier. Everything bolted right up, with minimal modification to the car.

The results are as mind-blowing as they were on my 900 Classic; brake pedal feels firm and consistent, stopping power is immense. All in all, an extremely confidence inspiring setup. And it looks the part too!
Unfortunately, due to changing availability of the calipers themselves new, at this moment I am unable to add this setup as a product to the ReierParts shop. If you’re interested in this, it is possible to recreate and I’d happily supply the required parts and can even source the correct calipers and have them rebuilt. Don’t hesitate to inquire, however keep in mind that fitting these behind factory wheels will require at least 18” and a small spacer behind the wheel. Most aftermarket wheels and wheels from an Alfa Romeo that came factory with Brembo brakes will fit without spacers. Expect cost for a complete setup to be around €1500.
